3+1 Mosquito Management Programme
A holistic solution that effectively targets mosquitoes and larvae, and contaminates micro breeding sites
The need for ORIGIN’s 3+1 Mosquito Programme
Conventional one-dimensional mosquito treatments often fall short in delivering lasting results. ORIGIN takes a comprehensive approach by implementing three distinct control strategies designed to minimise human-mosquito interaction. These strategies are further enhanced by our cutting-edge, data-driven monitoring software, which tracks and evaluates the effectiveness of the programme. Together, these components work seamlessly to ensure a mosquito-free environment around your property, providing long-term protection and peace of mind.
How Does 3+1 Mosquito Management Programme Work?
1. Inspection
ORIGINators conduct a comprehensive inspection to identify mosquito hotspots, breeding sites, and conditions that may encourage mosquito activity around your property.
From macro breeding areas to overlooked micro-sites, our team assesses the environment before recommending the most suitable next steps.
This allows treatment to be more targeted, practical, and aligned with the actual conditions on-site.
2. Dual Misting
Where treatment is required, ORIGIN uses Ultra Low Volume (ULV) misting to release a biological control agent in extremely tiny droplets across affected areas for optimal coverage.
Compared to traditional thermal fogging, misting is quieter and less disruptive. It also provides residual effect and can support control of both mosquito larvae and adult mosquitoes as part of a wider management programme.
3. ORITrap Monitoring
ORITrap is used as part of ORIGIN’s mosquito management system to gather data on mosquito activity, identify patterns, and highlight potential hotspots. This supports more informed recommendations on treatment, housekeeping, and preventive action.
How ORITrap Supports Monitoring
ORITrap uses odour-infused water to attract female mosquitoes, allowing ORIGINators to monitor mosquito activity across selected areas of the property. The trap contains a slow-acting larvicide as part of its technical function, but its primary role in our programme is to support population monitoring and trend analysis. Data collected from ORITrap helps us understand whether mosquito activity is increasing, decreasing, or remaining stable.
+1. Data Trending & Advisory
ORIGIN records and trends ORITrap data to monitor mosquito population levels over time. This helps clients understand whether mosquito activity is increasing, decreasing, or stable.
Where relevant, we also provide advisory based on the site’s proximity to active dengue clusters, supporting better housekeeping, treatment, and risk-awareness decisions.
